Hiya, I had the same thing, passport in maiden name and I had NO intention of changing it due to cost! Driving licence being free. Its the only thing you HAVE to do , you can be fined for not doing it. I kept my insurance in my old name so that it matched. It can be the same exact name you had before marriage, it can be just a change in title, you can take your partner’s name, or it can be any other name you wish. So, nothing changes automatically after marriage. But as for my passport i have only just got a new one costing £and get my name changed on that will cost another £ and no extra years credit.
I thought i could change my passport when i need to renew it. It is only the photo confirmation part that is linke apart from that the DVLA and Passport Agency are entirely separate. The name on your passport must match the one you use when you book your travel.
